WHY MIDDLE EAST & AFRICA?
While the justification for design management in the Middle East region is well known, Africa, the least developed region of the world, stands today at the doorstep of a major development revolution much like that which swept Europe in the 1950's, Japan in the 1960's, South-East Asia in the 1980's, Eastern Europe in the 1990's and India and China today. EAA is today expanding beyond it's base in Beirut to the new economies of Africa.
Though this transformation is well underway, over the next 25 years the continent will continue to demand everything from new hospitals to new virtual networks. The demand is not however for all existing products from other parts of the world. It is instead a unique opportunity for select companies to deliver new design technologies and methods that will allow African societies to leapfrog over the middle stages of development which in many other parts of the world took between ten and thirty years.
It is the process of choosing and implementing these special technologies – from engineering to project management – which is today the greatest impediment to growth in Africa. EAA has therefore focused its efforts on a limited number of core technologies which can deliver this leapfrog effect to our clients.
